Back To The Streets / Harmony (Elton John Cover) was
Recorded Februray,1980 in Phoenix, MD at Sheffield Recording Studios , it was Rudy’s first outing in a studio and the results proved to be a solid performance & production. For this first project Rudy enlisted veteran producer Doug Arthur, Russ Steele, (songwriter of Back To The Streets) and his band and rounding out the session was Sheffield’s in house engineer Bill Mueller. 45”s ( 7” vinyls) were pressed and “Harmony” the A side received some regional airplay. “BTTS” also can be found starting off side A on the 12” vinyl - WKTK’s Mid Atlantic’s “Big Music” contest album featuring local artists and bands. “Back To The Streets” has found a 2nd life- popular with DJ’s mashups worldwide on AOR Disco Modern Soul site, aordisco.blogspot.com, sampled by California hip hop veterans “People Under The Stairs’ ” -“Talkin’ Back To The Streets” and a dance track version that group “Dagfest” from Sweden is putting together. And original 7” vinyl’s are selling as high $175 each |
